What a fantastic on-course session with Chris last week, marking the start of his Winter Programme! We dove into the real-world challenges you can’t quite recreate on the range—sloping lies, tricky lies, and alignment adjustments. It turns out Chris's alignment on the course was a bit different from his range setup, but with a few tweaks, he's already looking sharper and more focused on breaking 80 this season!
If you’re looking to take on winter golf with purpose, build those skills, and gain real course confidence, reach out to join our Winter Programme. Let’s make this your breakthrough season!

We’re excited to announce our next Junior Academy Away Day, coming up on 24th November at Hoebridge Golf Course. It’s a fantastic opportunity for our young golfers to continue showing off the skills they've worked so hard to develop over the summer.
Our last event saw a wonderful turnout, with about 30 kids having a blast and putting what they learned in the camps and junior academy into practice. We were truly impressed by the progress—watching everyone play confidently and precisely was a real highlight. It’s clear that all the effort on the practice range and during our sessions is paying off, with some exceptional play on display.
Congratulations again to our recent winners, Luke, Euan, and Oscar, who stood out with their fantastic performances. We can't wait to see how everyone’s game has progressed even further this time around.
Mark your calendars for the 24th and get ready for another afternoon of great golf, friendly competition, and a chance to celebrate just how far our juniors have come!

What a fantastic Friday we had on the course with Joe and David! Together, we focused on shot strategy, course management, and staying calm under pressure. Joe’s great work paid off with his first-ever birdie on the 3rd hole – a fantastic milestone and definitely the first of many! ⛳🏅🏆

Scott Taylor's a skilled player with a low handicap, but like many golfers, he was struggling with pulling his shots. After our initial lesson, we discovered a few key things affecting his performance: - His setup and ball position were off. - His right forearm was too high, causing shoulder and swing issues. - His balance points were out, with his armpits over his toes.
With just a few adjustments—no swing changes—we aligned his setup for a more neutral ball flight. Now, Scott controls his shots with simple tweaks to ball position, and his game is better than ever!
If you're ready to see improvements, book your FREE assessment today! Beginner or seasoned player, we’ll help you find easy ways to take your game to the next level. 🏌⛳

It was great to have John in the studio for a lesson to STOP THE SHANKS!
John had actually stopped playing for several years due to the dreaded shanks. After trying tips from friends and watching countless YouTube videos, he finally decided to see an expert.
Not only did we fix the shanks within 5 minutes, but we also explained why they were happening, giving John the tools to correct them if they ever return.
John received a brief review video to recap the lesson. All our students receive this as part of their profile on our dedicated golf lesson app, GLF.Connect. It was fantastic to see the smile on John’s face when he started finding the middle of the clubface again! 😁👍⛳
If you’d like to get the tools to fix any swing issues you might have, book a lesson with us today. Let’s get you back to enjoying your game!

Darren has been a dedicated seasonal golfer for some time now, but he consistently struggled with a two-way miss with his driver. Determined to improve, Darren came in for an assessment and we made some major progress in just 30 minutes.
Previously, Darren's swing came over the top, leading to inconsistencies. We worked on creating a more efficient path on his backswing and introduced a simple yet effective swing thought for his downswing. This resulted in a far more predictable ball flight, swing after swing.
Darren’s current handicap is 28, but we're looking to cut that down significantly by the end of the summer!
Michael Hewlett was really struggling with his driver, consistently hitting it low and left, resulting in very little carry or distance. After working on adjustments tailored to his swing and physical characteristics, we received this fantastic message:
"I went to the range last night and had the best session ever with the driver. The hints last weekend have finally sunk in… Hardly any were low and left! Was buzzing when I left last night!!"

How many times have you hit a great drive that’s put you in position A, but fluff your lines and end up missing the green from inside 90 yards?
Many of my students tell me that their short game is fine, “it’s just the driver I need to focus on.” This may be true, but how many times do you hit driver in a round, 12 times perhaps?
Now that so many of you have access to Arccos data and for those of you who have 1-2-1 lessons with me through Skillest, there’s no hiding. After every round, I can see where your game is lacking with the new integration feature.
So, what is the difference between a chip and a pitch? Well, in today’s video, we look at the simple difference that will help define the two.
I hope today’s video puts a smile on your face and helps you get up and down a few times: - Please “Like” the video if you found it helpful - ”Comment” and ask questions. Here at Pine Ridge Golf Academy, we're passionate about getting our students better at playing golf!
One of the keys to this is to ensure that any technical improvements we make in the swing studio and on the driving range transfers to the golf course.
This is why we like to get our students out on the course, and work with them on the different shots and course management that you cannot work on in the driving range.
I was really excited to receive this message from Adit on Sunday after we had completed another playing lesson on Friday... He played 9 holes at Hoebridge Golf Course and scored a 43...
"Definitely course management that made all the difference."

Chris was struggling with his golf game, having an inconsistent miss which led to him scoring 92 in his last two rounds. He popped in for a lesson where we pinpointed the issues and straightened out his technique. The result? Chris was able to determine the general direction his ball would be going, and shot an impressive 85 and 86 in his next two rounds!
Knowing which way your ball goes helps to relieve a ton of pressure and makes every round more enjoyable.
If you're looking to improve your game and lower your scores, why not follow Chris's lead? Book a lesson today and see the difference for yourself.

Now that you've mastered the punch-out shot and the different chip shots around the green, you're going to have to find a way to get the ball in the hole.
The key to doing this as fast as possible on a regular basis is with a consistent putting stroke. This will help you to build accuracy and confidence, and quickly adapt to different greens. A putting stroke that becomes second nature also lets you focus on the important things such as line and speed and will help you to eliminate those pesky three putts!
Check out the video on how to easily improve your putting consistency, where you can work on this almost anywhere. Once that's dialed in, get in touch and let's schedule an assessment or a lesson where we can work on the aspects of your game that will impact your game most.
With reviews like these, we don't need to say much more:
- "Martin J the coach is a super chap, the kids love him and my son really enjoys his lessons with him. Highly recommended." - "My son attends lessons there and he loves them! They are brilliant with the children, really attentive and it feels like they cares about each of them and want them to learn and do really well each week. Makes them fun too! :)" - "My daughter Emily who is 7 years old made so much progress recently and she loves the lessons! We are very pleased:-)."

I hope you all enjoyed the action from The Masters this past weekend, what a show! How many of you tried the low shot between under the trees that we shared last week? We'd love to hear how this shot works out for you, especially around here at Pine Ridge!
You would have also seen a lot of different chip shots being used on those greens at Augusta National. Some needed to get up and stop really quickly, while others were kept low and rolled out to their target. Here's a quick video on how you can play both of those shots!
If you'd like to work more on your short game for the upcoming season, why not book an assessment? We can see how best to capitalize on your strengths, as well as work on the weaker areas of your game.
Hey Pine Ridge golfers! With Masters fever well and truly upon us, I'm excited to get in the spirit and bring a little bit of Augusta magic to you.

Our Director of Coaching, Andrew Simmonds, was up at The Belfry this week visiting the PGA National Training Academy.
Andrew was learning about some of the latest technology available in the golf industry, and how we improve the experience of students coming to Pine Ridge Golf Academy.
We'll have some exciting updates to share on this in the near future, but in the meantime do check in with the coaching team to find out what programs we have on offer this month and how we can help you to continue to learn and improve your golf this year!
Ed came to us for a free assessment lesson in the autumn with a goal of becoming more consistent and to break 95... We mapped out how we would help Ed to achieve this by analysing which areas of the game he needed to improve in order to achieve his scoring goal.
We went on the course to see the whole game in action and then prioritised a couple of technical improvements in his swing, along with controlling distances with his wedges and bringing his putting up to a level where he can break 90.
Ed has worked diligently on his technical improvements through the winter months and now that the improvements have become more natural we have worked on distance control, specifically with his wedges and iron shots. We provided Ed with regular video feedback so he knew what to practice and could check to make sure he was working on the right things.
We're taking Ed back on the course now so he is ready for the season with his new skills. After a great session this morning Ed is pleased to have achieved one of his goals "This is 100% the most consistent I've ever been.."
We've reassessed his scoring goal, we're now aiming to break 90, which with his new skills Ed is more than capable of... Watch this space!

Hard work pays off... Sue has been working hard on her game throughout the winter months.
Sue was a 14 handicapper a few years ago, but has struggled more recently with her game and came to us as a 20 handicap before Christmas.
"I've lost my way and confidence. Head full of what to do or what not to do!"
We hear this a lot from our students, there is a lot of information out there on YouTube and from well-meaning friends and partners... but YOU need to know what YOU need to improve for YOUR golf game.
We worked with Sue to lay out a plan, we got out on the course to see how the improvements we've worked on translate to on course performance, and tracked the stats we know will be key to her improvement.
Sue has done fantastically well, working hard on her game and the performances are starting to come...
"Today, I played the front nine in 4 over......25 stableford points!! 5 pars and 4 bogies......that felt very good!!!"
If you want results like this, and you're serious about improving your golf this year, then click the link below to claim a free assessment lesson and let us help you to get back on track in 2024!

We're excited to get as many new golfers on the course as possible this year... and have planned out free taster sessions, regular coaching programmes, monthly playing events, an away day to see the Pros at the BMW Championships in September and a Golf Holiday to the Algarve in October!
If you're interested in coming along to some or all of the above (or if you just want to meet some new people to play golf with) then just get in touch via the button below and we'll contact you with more details.
Adit came to us with a goal of breaking 100 regularly, so he can compete with his friends who play off 15-20 handicaps.
Having never had any lessons previously Adit jumped straight into a winter improvement programme and had a fantastic first lesson with Andrew over the weekend!
We had a full review of Adit's swing and then headed out onto the putting/chipping green to introduce some simple short game concepts that will help him to put his scores together and achieve his goal of consistently scoring under 100.
This was Adit's first chipping lesson... and resulted in his first ever Chip-In !!
A great moment for any golfer, and a brilliant start to the year for Adit, who we know is going to achieve great things this year!

Last Friday, Levi and I were out on the golf course for his lesson, working on all aspects of his game and making a plan to achieve his goal of a being a 20 handicap golfer or lower!
Based on how Levi has applied himself and improved so far, I don't think we'll have any issues with achieving that goal in the new year. We love receiving messages from students like Levi, who are enthused and passionate about improving their golf...
"Hey mate, really good day at the range last night ! Buzzing."

It was great to get out on the golf course this week with Doug…

Don't over complicate your swing, clarity will provide more consistency, more confidence and more smiles!

It's been great working with Paul since he started his winter programme. Paul's goal is to reduce his scores from an average of 23 over down to 18 or less.
We're only just getting started but have already covered:
1. Tracking his performance on the course to pin point the areas we need to focus on 2. How we'll improve his swing to strike the ball more consistently 3. Sharpen his short game with a simple technical improvement 4. Long putting practice drills to ensure we stop wasted shots on the green
All this is being tracked through the GLF. Connect App, with regular check-ins in between lessons. Paul has already beaten his target score once, it's going to be exciting to see where we get to by the time Spring rolls around.
Let us know if you'd like to jump into a Winter Programme and transform your game this winter so you can enjoy your golf more next summer! Book an assessment lesson now...

Many golfers attracted to launch monitor numbers are obsessed with speed. Club head speed, ball speed. They’re looking for the thrill of distance. But distance can be significantly impacted by ATTACK ANGLE.
Don't forget to let us know what matters most to YOU in your personal golfing journey. What matters most to us, is that you have the best experience possible every time you tee it up.

Thank you to everyone that has entered our competition this week to win a 9 hole playing lesson with our Director of Coaching, Andrew Simmonds.
To enter the competition you need to guess how many holes Andrew has played in 1 day.
The answer is 135 holes !!!
Andrew completed the 'Golf Marathon" back in 2015 to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support after being diagnosed with a melanoma the previous summer.
The day started at 4:20am and Andrew completed his last hole at 9:20pm. The course was a 6100 yard par 70, and Andrew's scores ranged from a 67 (-3) in his second round, to an 87 (+17) in his 7th round of the day.
Congratulations to Darryl who wins a playing lesson with Andrew, although only over 9 holes this time!

Last week we introduced Andrew Simmonds, our new Director of Coaching at Pine Ridge Golf Academy. He's had a great start so far and is very excited to get to know a whole lot more of you!
Just a reminder that his competition for a 9-hole playing lesson is closing tomorrow and this is your last chance to enter! All you need to do is tell us: • What your golfing goal is for 2024 • Guess the most holes of golf Andrew has played in one day (all walking, no buggy!).
Launch monitors give you the opportunity to see just what your potential could be. You can skip the rest of this article and book an assessment to discover your potential now.
Andrew is a valuable addition to the Pine Ridge team, offering a wealth of knowledge and experience. His expertise is particularly tailored to assist golfers seeking improved consistency and enhanced confidence on the course.
Is this you? The player prone to the infuriating topped shot? Remember two things: 1. Laugh it off, even the very best hit them sometimes. 2. Learn how to lower the chances of it happening again.
Kieran Lewis has spent a few years away from the course, but decided to dust off his clubs again earlier this year.
As you can see from the conversation on the left, we made some great progress within the space of a few lessons and Kieran was happy with shooting 92 over 18 holes.
Fast forward to present day, Kieran has been consistently attending lessons and putting in the practice. He was rewarded for his efforts with an unbelievable round of 78 (6 over par) the other day. A massive 18 SHOT IMPROVEMENT from his round in July. What an achievement! Can't wait to see what you achieve next, Kieran!
If you would like to start your own journey of improvement and get more joy from your golf, chat to me. We can create a personal plan that is tailored specifically to your needs and goals. Next thing you know, you'll be putting together the round of your life, just like Kieran!
Here's another quick video to help you turn those bunker blues into sandy smiles!
If you struggle to get out of the bunker first time or would like to start nipping them a bit closer for some very satisfying sand saves, be sure to book yourself into a lesson today!
Thinking about your golf game, where would an improvement make the most difference? Not just to your scorecard or your handicap, but to how much you enjoy the game.
What was your best score this summer? How would you feel if you shot that on a regular occasion? How would you feel if you shot an even lower personal best?
From all the golfers we've worked with over the past few years, we know that nothing beats these feelings. And that this is the time of the year to put in the work!
Tell us your scoring goal by clicking the button below. We know we can get you there.

Neil Dupree came into the academy with some clear goals in mind. We created a set plan and started with some one-on-one lessons in March, where we focussed on his swing mechanics on the range, and then took to the course to sharpen up his short game and course management.
It's been fantastic to see his progress over the past few months and his hard work has been merited with a well-deserved victory in his most recent golf day. We love to see it Neil and hope your fellow golfers in the society don't have hard feelings for too long!
If you'd like to get on track to disappoint your fourball with some fantastic performances of your own, get in touch! We'd love to create a personalised plan just for you.

How does your swing look? We want to look at it with you. We don’t want to compare it to Jordan Spieth or Justin Thomas or Tiger Woods. We want to find the small, easy-to-improve areas which if improved, make a big impact on your playing experience.
We all saw what effect the weather can have on your ball flight this past weekend. Have you ever tried the stinger? This low-flying, controlled shot is perfect for windy conditions and tight fairways. Check out the video below on the basics of how to hit this super-effective shot.
If you want to learn the stinger to put in your arsenal of shots or would like to improve your game in general, be sure to reach out. Let's create some happy memories on the fairways together!
If I talked about swing fundamentals and goals, most of you would yawn. But the image on the left is the one we most often see. The image on the right is easier to achieve than you might think, and it will produce much better results.
I know that some of you doubt your ability to have a great, or even good, golf swing. Some of you seem prepared to live with the playing experience you have. Don’t.
Viv always struggled with a nemesis holly bush on this particular tee shot. From her message, you can tell that she fears this bush no more! What's even better was her attitude after the shot didn't end up exactly where she would have liked it.

Are three-putts ruining your scorecard? Turn threes into twos and not only will your scores come tumbling down, you’ll also move from struggles to excitement!
A reliable short game is the glue that holds a round together. Get up and down a couple more times each round and not only will your game be on the up and up, but you’ll have a lot more fun and probably impress your playing partners too!
The best way to set up more scoring opportunities on your approach is to find more fairways from the tee. Other than it being easier to play from the fairway, it’s also so satisfying to walk off the tee and onto the short grass knowing that’s where you’ll stay. We want you to experience that satisfaction more often.
Spring has sprung and it's time to embrace the longer, (hopefully) sunnier days and use them as an opportunity to take your game to the next level! We have some exciting programmes and events for all ages and abilities coming up, so be sure to check them out below and book yourself, your family, friends and loved ones in!
Are you looking for a new and exciting way to stay active and challenge yourself both physically and mentally? Have you or anyone you know ever considered taking up golf but haven't had the chance to give it a try yet? If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you!
Cleanly struck tee shots are the ticket to turning more par 3s into scoring opportunities. And what you do before taking the shot plays a big part in the quality of your strike.
We have the last few spaces available on our Junior Camps next week with Coach Martin. Lots of fun, great coaching and even some Easter themed competitions!
Fun Golf Camp (9am-12pm) Tuesday 11th April Wednesday 12th April
Performance Golf Camp (2pm-5pm) Tuesday 11th April Wednesday 12th April Thursday 13th April
Cost is just £45 per session, or book onto 3 sessions and save £15
Club selection can be the difference between a hitting the green to set up a birdie chance and missing the green to set up a tough up and down. Let's make sure you turn more par 3s into scoring opportunities!
Last week, we spoke about the importance of knowing your best and average yardage for every club in your bag. And when it comes to par 3s, there are three more yardages to consider if you want to make your own luck and hit more greens.
Looking for a way to get your kids off their screens and onto the green this Easter? Our junior golf camp is the perfect solution!
Through fun and interactive games, your kids will learn the ins and outs of golf, as well as develop skills like teamwork, sportsmanship, and patience (hey, they'll need it for those tricky shots). With our experienced instructors and top-notch facilities, your kids are guaranteed to have a swinging good time.
So don't let your kids be a birdie on the couch this Easter - sign them up for our junior golf camp!
You’ve probably heard that famous saying: “The more I practise, the luckier I get.” But we’d take that even further to say that it’s not just how much you practise, but how you practise.
Setting up a scoring opportunity on your approach is about more than making good impact with the right club. Use the power of observation to make your own luck and maybe you’ll get even closer to the pin.
We’ve got an opportunity to improve your performance
A consistent address is one of the foundations of a reliable, repeatable swing. Have you got specific address cues for your setup with every club in your bag? If not, we’ve got an opportunity to improve your performance and playing experience from tee to green!
Looking for added driving distance and bragging rights over your playing partners? Improving your posture helps increase your shoulder turn, so you can achieve your distance potential!
Last chance to get your kids signed up for our February Junior Camps next week! Only 5 spots left!
This is a great way to get them into golf or to kickstart their season. With games, friendly competitions, new friends and a ton of new things waiting to be learned, your young ones are bound to have a ball!
Behind every fairway and green in regulation is a clubface set square to the target. Do this more often and you will raise your game and lower your scores!
Too many putts can be the difference between a memorable round and one to forget. When it comes to putting, less is more. And if you want to shave strokes and have more fun on the greens, we’ll need to start with some key basics.
Our Learn to Play programme looks to make the learning process as simple (and FUN) as possible, and breaks down the traditional barriers associated with the game.
We are also running a FREE Taster session, where you can come and see what all the fuss is about! Join our Taster by clicking the button below, or sign up for the programme immediately further down.
We are delighted to welcome PGA Professional, Adam Slattery to our team here at Pine Ridge. Adam is extremely knowledgeable about the game and takes pride in his ability to help all of you get more enjoyment from this game we all love.
"Hi everyone,
I’m Adam Slattery, PGA professional. I’ve been playing for 20 years and turned professional in 2018.
I still compete in county and regional events and strive for perfection in my own game, however, my primary passion is coaching, so seeing my students succeed is what gives me the most joy.
My evidence-based approach to coaching helps you to understand any issues or tendencies you may have (every lesson I give includes data from TrackMan and detailed analysis using the GLF. Connect app to help make practice more efficient). My main goal is for you to leave with a better understanding of the cause of these tendencies and how to correct this through effective drills during practice. This helps you to be more equipped to handle any situation the next time you are on the course and ultimately, become a happier golfer."

Being a confident and skilful chipper doesn’t only make the game loads more fun, it’ll also transform your scorecard. Make mastering the chip shot your new year’s resolution and let us help you achieve it.
Had a great message from Dawn this week. Dawn was struggling with good ball contact and therefore distance. A couple of small changes and suddenly she's back to hitting some much longer shots. It's so important this time of year to carry the ball further to get more yardage.
If you'd like help with getting a few more yards to help your golf game please get in contact
Learning new skills whilst making lifelong friends, that's what junior golf is all about! We're very excited for our 2023 junior programming to kick off with the February Junior Camp.
Tired of those pulled or pushed iron shots ruining your birdie chances? Want to play more stress-free golf and enjoy more satisfaction on your approach to the green? If you answered “yes”, then the first step is for us to make sure you’re squaring your irons at impact.
How many fairways do you generally hit each round? What number are you chasing? Spending more time in the fairways is possible with an effective and repeatable swing.
Whether 2022 was another year in your lifelong journey with golf or the year that you started out, thank you for choosing to share it with us! We’ve enjoyed it immensely and look forward to seeing you all back out there in 2023.
What a great year it’s been for the Junior Academy at Pine Ridge! We've all learned so much and you can all be proud of the effort that you've put in. But the most important part is... we had FUN!
A ‘kinetic chain’ of joints and muscles extends from your ankles to shoulders. When that chain is strong, your energy transfer is better, and your swing is more powerful and consistent. But one weak link can cause a breakdown. That’s why mobility matters.
We know that increasing your smash factor by just 0.05 can add 10 metres to your tee shots. But did you know that increasing your pelvic mobility can help you actually hit that smash factor more consistently?
Your golf swing has more power potential than you think. To develop that power, you need a strong foundation of mobility. How mobile are you? A swing assessment can tell us a lot.
You will no doubt receive a ton of marketing messages today with "unbelievable deals and discounts". This might lead to a lot of needless spending on items that won't necessarily bring lasting satisfaction to your life.
We'd however like to offer you the opportunity to INVEST IN HAPPINESS.
Those unbeatable feelings of watching the ball soar further than ever before or disappearing into the cup from a long-range putt. That feeling of confidence standing over a chip or in the bunker knowing you'll get it out the first time. These are the investments that we'd like to offer you this Black Friday.
If you'd like to invest in your own, or someone else's happiness this festive season, get them a lesson gift card. There are numerous different offers up for grabs and you can even customise your own. Click the button below and make someone's year! A more enjoyable golfing experience isn’t only about improving your swing. Simply making better choices has a positive impact. We’re here to help you with both.
With all the deals flying around this week, we can't think of a better gift than that of a better golf game.
The joy this brings, along with the memories made from shooting your personal best, breaking 100 or just being confident to get out of the bunker first time, is priceless!

Negotiating a golf course successfully is about weighing up risk versus reward. Knowing your dispersion patterns enables you to adjust your aim, so you can minimise the risk of going out of bounds and reap the rewards of staying in play.
I have slots available on Thursday and Friday this week, with Saturday booking up fast. Please confirm your availability by clicking the button below and I’ll book you in.
Yesterday I recorded one of my favourite putting routines which I personally use before a competition, take a look below and let me know what you think!
Now is the time to really work hard on your swing and get some technical aspects better, to prepare you for next season.
See below a lesson video I did recently on casting the club, which is a very common swing fault.
If you struggle with this, or any other aspect of your game, get in touch! I have some lesson slots available this week on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons, as well as some availability Friday lunchtime. Even better, why not join for a 9-hole playing lesson and we can see where your game is really at and put a plan in action for you this winter!
When you think of golf’s scariest shots, what usually comes to mind is the drive on a tight fairway, the approach over a water hazard, the deep greenside bunker and the fairway wood off the deck. But there aren’t any gremlins lying in wait on the green, right?...
Hope you had a good weekend of golf, hopefully you dodged the rain yesterday.
Due to the weather changing and full-on winter pretty much here now, see below a video on chipping off of bare lies. Unfortunately, most of the time you’ll be off bare mud when you miss a green. Now, if there is no rough behind the ball you can still opt for a much safer chip and run however if there’s lots of grass before the ball you’ll need a bit more loft as you’ll need to hit down slightly on the ball.
Book yourself in for a lesson and I can explain in more detail.
Lesson availability this week: Wednesday 11-2pm Friday 8-2pm
It's a scary place. Taking that first tee shot in front of all the onlookers. It doesn't have to be though!

Hitting a successful approach shot is tough enough when there’s smooth fairway surrounding the green. Add water to the mix and “tough” can easily morph into “scary”.
You’ve split the fairway on a long par 4 and the green is in sight, albeit a long way away. You know that when you strike your fairway wood well, it has the distance to get you there. But you don’t strike it well very often...
“Halfway through my training block now with Lewis and so pleased with the level he’s got me to in such a relatively short space of time. Having a mentor like him really makes it easy to enjoy and play the kind of golf I know I’m capable of.” Dan Hyam
We're so pleased you're having a great time learning and improving, Dan! Can't wait to see the progress you make through the rest of your programme with us!
If you'd like to get on a journey to better golf and more enjoyment, why not come in for a FREE assessment to see exactly where your game is at, and how to get to where you want to go!
Your opening tee shot can be quite a nervy moment, even during a solo 9-holes when the course is quiet. But what about those Saturday mornings when the tee sheet is jam-packed and the clubhouse is full? Does that moment fill you with dread? It doesn’t have to.
We have 3 separate Learn to Play programmes starting next week and only a few spots left in each!
We love introducing this game of a lifetime to new golfers, so if you know of anyone who has been thinking about getting into the game and would benefit from a programme such as this, be sure to pass this on to them!
Under expert guidance, you'll cover everything you need to be able to book a round with your mates on the weekend and show them a thing or two. Book your spot today!
We’re looking for 6 to 12 golfers to start a shared journey. From the 90s to 80s or 80s to the 70s on your scorecard. We want you to be the master of many golfing skills.
It's that time of the year again where your kids will be having a scarily good time at our Halloween Camp! These camps are all about giving juniors the opportunity to play golf, learn new skills, make friends and have loads of FUN!

We're looking for a few member volunteers that can help facilitate a weekly playing event for new golfers and/or junior golfers. In return, a lead volunteer will be hosted at next year's BMW Championship at Wentworth for an enjoyable day watching the world's best battle it out!
Each of you will be able to close your eyes and think of an exquisite golfing moment. Usually that will be the perfect shot, often unexpected, that surprises you AND your playing partners.
I hope you’ve had a great summer of golf with your handicaps coming down.
A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to play with Ernie Els at Wentworth on the East course. I thoroughly recommend it if you haven’t ever played there. I’ve attached a video of a driver swing for you to look at, try and focus on his amazing rhythm and emulate it as best you can.
Whilst having a beer on the buggy, I told him about the hole-in-one I had the previous week in which his reply was “I’ve had 23”. I won’t be boasting to him about any of my highlights again!
So let’s get practicing.
My availability this week is:- Wednesday 1pm-4pm Thursday 12-3pm Friday 11am-1pm
If you'd like to get to work on your game and try to catch up with Ernie, please do pop me a message by clicking the button below

Eshana and Oliver created some memories this summer
It's been an absolute cracker of a summer with our juniors! Tons of fun was had and we were really impressed with the progress made by so many of our young golfers.
When I met Malcolm Hughes, he was playing off a 21 handicap. As you can see from his email below, we had a chat and decided on a challenging, but very achievable goal. After purchasing the Platinum Package we offer here at Pine Ridge and putting in some great work, he has now achieved his goal and is ready for the next one!
We couldn't be prouder, keep up the great work Malcolm!

An effective pre-shot routine is one of the main building blocks of a solid golf game. It’ll make you feel more confident and give you a more stable foundation to deal with tricky situations.
Hope you’re feeling better. I played 9 holes of the par 3 at Hoebridge with Trixie today. I’m stunned at not only her progress in 8 weeks but her love of the game.
Thank you! She’s loving the lessons you give. I’ve attached a video. This shot finished 5ft from the pin and she knocked it in for a Birdie.
Thanks, Ross."
We're always so happy when we receive messages like these, thanks for passing that along Ross. And we couldn't be prouder of you Trixie! We can't wait to see you hit more amazing shots like this and watch your love for the game grow!
We still have a few spots open for our Junior Summer Camp from Wednesday 17 - Friday 19 August so if you haven't booked your child's spot yet, we encourage you to do it quickly! They can join for a single day or all three depending on their availability.

Selecting a club, executing the shot and hitting your target is an extremely satisfying experience. By using data about your game – like your dispersion pattern – correctly, we can add more satisfying moments like this to your playing experience.
See the world (or golf course) in a whole new light
A consistent pre-shot routine won’t only help you to keep more tee shots in play, it will also add more clarity, confidence and consistency to your overall game.
We love the par 18 challenge. It’s a great benchmark of your wedge play and putting. And once we know your score, we’re able to create a much more effective short game improvement plan for you. But what score is the benchmark for you?
There are few golf shots more satisfying than a crisply struck pitch that hops and stops next to the hole. To help you hit more of these shots, we’ll need to take a look at how balanced you are.
Here's where they'll learn to play like their heroes
What a weekend of golf! The unbelievable atmosphere and traditions of the Old Course. Tiger's ovation on his final hole on Friday. Rory holing out from the bunker on 10 on Saturday. Then Cam Smith's magic on and around the greens to bring home the Claret Jug on Sunday. It was everything you could have asked for from a major at the home of golf.
Congratulations to Vinnie, winner of our most recent 4 hole junior golf competition. He's really been trying his best in the lessons to improve his technique and It's paying off.
An amazing score of 17, beating his previous best by 6 shots. Almost as amazing as the smile. Learning so much more than just golf skills.
If you'd like to get your kid into golf over the summer please let me know by clicking the link.
When you need to get up and down, the type of shot you play will depend on your lie and distance from the green. But identifying the shot is only half the job, you’ll also need to choose the right club.
The Tour average for greens hit in regulation is just under 70%. For mid-handicap amateurs, it’s about 20%. When you’re hitting one out of five greens, being able to get up and down in two shots (scramble) is essential.
Back to Single figures for the first time in 10 Years!!!
Was great to hear from Mark after his win last Friday.
The round got him back to single figures with a handicap of 8.9!! First time he's been back there for 10 years. Good to see the swing changes and more importantly the hard work practicing paying off.
Well done Mark and look forward to seeing some more messages like this.
If you need help getting to your own personal goals please contact martin@prgolfacademy.com
Golf doesn’t have to be a game played over four or five hours or even 18 or 9 holes. You can have a competition with 3 friends in 45 minutes before or after your day starts or ends. A Par 18 Challenge is a great benchmark to track your greenside skill.
With Father's Day on Sunday, we'll be sure he'll be glued to the US Open and thinking about how he will take on the course in the weeks to come. This is the perfect opportunity to get him an improved golf game to say thank you for being an awesome dad!
Our gift cards can be made to any amount and customised with a special message to make your dad feel extra special this Sunday!
A short-game coaching guru once analysed thousands of regular golfers and determined that the average length of the final shot to the green was 19 yards.
It's US Open week! With all the buzz around the golfing world lately, this promises to be another exciting week for golf. But closer to home for all of us, it's Father's Day on Sunday! Out of all the gifts, we know a better golf game is always welcomed with open arms.
1 game. 2 Scorecards. Multiple ways to play better golf
You probably know that the final number on your scorecard has more to do with your performance with a few clubs at the bottom of your bag: your wedges and putter.
Go on a journey where the grass is short and hazards are distant
Most golfers shooting above 90 are struggling with the ball going right (for right-handers). If that’s you, hitting the ball straighter, or even with a gentle draw, gets you on a better journey.
Congratulations to James on his first hole in one.
James has only been playing a year or so and had a few lesson working on the irons. It's obviously starting to pay off. Well done and hope you don't have to wait as long as most of us for another.
Shooting below 85 or even near to that number is very difficult if your first move on the downswing takes your hands “outside the line” (that’s a technical term we use to describe the relationship between your swing and the plane).
Training aids are exactly that. Aids to help you train better! However, which can we trust and which are just gimmicks?
The G-Snap gets 5 stars from Platinum Package owner and 16-handicapper, Malcolm. This particular training aid helps provides feedback so that you know exactly how to adjust your swing to get more distance, make cleaner strikes and put less curvature on your ball.
In response to the feedback provided by the training aid, every shot Malcolm hit turned into beautiful high draws. Well done Malcolm!
If you’d like to try the G-Snap for yourself or want to find other ways to make golf a whole lot simpler for you, get in touch. We love finding ways to help each unique individual get more joy from their game.
Last time out, if too many holes were spoiled right from the off, by a slice or big fade off the tee that results in you being in the rough or trees, then the good news is that it's often an easier fix than you think.
There’s nothing like some healthy, fun competition to develop your skills. That’s why we love the par-18 challenge. It’s the perfect way to make short-game practice time with a friend or family member more fun and more effective.
We see so many golfers, across the skills spectrum, who live with more greenside anxiety and higher scores than they should. But it doesn’t have to be this way, there’s so much fun on offer around the greens.
The average golfer hits 3 to 6 greens in regulation per round. That means up to 15 holes per round will probably require a wedge shot within 40 yards. That’s why it’s good to get into the habit of regularly playing 9 holes of 40-yard golf.

Lewis shows you how you can have so much more fun around the greens
While you’re playing a full 18-holes, there’s another game you should keep track of; your average from 50 yards in. Next time you play, keep a record of how many shots you take each time you play from 50 yards out.
From tee to green, these opportunities will make you more keen
We believe every golfer – regardless of skill level – can improve their playing experience. The trick to helping you play better golf in the future, is having as clear a picture as possible of where you are right now.
On putts over 20 feet, regular golfers don’t strike the putter face at a consistent spot. Some strikes will be towards the toe and some will be nearer the heel.
How many times have you stood over a really long putt and just HOPED to get it close enough to survive? With the right lie angle for your putting stroke and setup, you’ll KNOW you’re getting it close.
Knowing you can comfortably handle long putts takes the pressure off needing to land your ball close to the flag on approach. When you’re able to consistently two-putt from distance, your golf experience is transformed.
Focus on what's important and make a ton more putts
The face angle of your putter at contact has between 80 and 95% influence on the launch direction of your putt. That means a tiny error could cause you to slip by the hole, even with great tempo.
Knowing only your ‘carry’ may help you clear the fairway bunker, but it’ll send you rolling off the back of the green. And knowing only your ‘total distance’ may help you stop your approach shot on the green, but it’ll probably land you in that fairway bunker.
Your total score after 18 holes has a lot to do with the clubs at the bottom of your bag. But before we can know just how much, we need to work out your short game score.
I have a couple of opportunities coming up this month and next month for the popular 3 hr group coaching afternoon. This is a great way to get a few things to work on for the upcoming season.

Your “dispersion pattern” is the area that you usually land the ball. We determine this pattern for each club in your bag by taking an average yardage spread across several shots. With this knowledge, club selection and game management becomes a lot easier.
Give them the opportunity to have as much fun as you do
Need any more reasons to learn to play this amazing game? Pass this message onto your mates, your cousins or even your grandparents, it's never too late to join in the fun!
Hitting a green in regulation (GIR) means you’re on the putting surface in two shots less than par on a hole. But GIR is based on a scratch golfer’s expected performance.
Not sure how to get your kids off their screens and onto the greens? We have a fantastic programme for juniors, which includes all the basics they'll need to take the course on with confidence, obtain a handicap and have a huge amount of fun!
The key to more enjoyment is a long walk down the fairway
Yes, the statistics on the major tours now tell us that those with the longest tee shots are making a great living, but you’re not trying to make a living from the game.
Hope you've had a good start to the year and the golf is well underway. I have an opportunity coming up this month for the popular 3 hr group coaching afternoon. This will be a great way to start the year and get a few things to work on moving forward.

“You drive for show, but putt for dough” was a saying that used to have some relevance to tour professionals and the highly competitive. It’s a lot less relevant to them now (as proven by the big-hitters at the top of the money list) but was it ever relevant to the regular golfer?
As we come to the end of another unusual and challenging year, we want to thank you for your participation and support. Our community is stronger as a result!
The big week is finally here! For those of you who are still scrambling for gifts, don't worry! We have you covered. Get your loved ones a ticket to better golf today with a lesson voucher!
Anyone can become our next Student of the Year. It doesn't matter what your current form is like or your skill level, it's all about reaching your full potential that makes us happy!
From a high handicapper at the beginning of the season, to cutting it down by 6 strokes and winning trophies, Neeraj is not even nearly done! Keep up the great work!
Forget scores and handicaps for a moment. Picture a shot you’ve hit recently that felt great. A shot that sounded sweet, flew true, and landed softly. Those are the moments we play for.
Playing from long, wet grass comes with the territory at some courses during the winter months. But your golf experience doesn’t have to get stuck because of it.
We've got your winter planned out for you right here
With an epic summer of golf now behind us, some of us may know exactly what we'd like to improve before next season. However, others might not quite know what aspect of their games will have the greatest impact on their scoring potential.
How would you feel being the longest in your fourball?
Let’s create more great experiences for you. Let’s create greater thrills and better walks. Let’s have a look at your tee-shot efficiency: your impact position and consistency, and your launch conditions created.
Whatever their ability level, golf can help children with their physical, mental and emotional development. Among other things, they will learn gross motor skills, hand-eye coordination, etiquette and how to safely socialise. Plus, it's fun!
We were overwhelmed by the amount of positive responses we got from our newsletter that went out last week. Our winter programmes that we have planned are going to put more friendship and social connection back into golf while encouraging you to reach new heights TOGETHER.
How fast do you swing the clubhead? How many yards do you hit your tee shots? With those two numbers we can calculate how ‘efficient’ you are with your ‘yards per mph’ measure.
Golf is meant to be a journey shared. In fact, well over 50% of golfers say that “fun with friends” is MUCH more important than being competitive. Golf is a ‘human’ pastime. We want to put more friendship and social connection back into golf while encouraging you to reach new heights TOGETHER.
At the end of a long season, we're super happy to announce that our very own PGA Professional Lewis Atkinson was announced as the winner of the PGA South Region order of merit yesterday.
This qualifies him for the playoffs against the Scottish region, North region, East region, Midlands region and West region, where the winner gets into the BMW Championship at Wentworth.
We're incredibly proud and wish you all the best in the playoffs! If you'd like to get a lesson from this season's top PGA Pro in the South, be sure to book yourself in today!
Pure satisfaction is so much closer than you think
If you’re shooting in the 90s then what if it took less than 20 hours of learning, practice, and feedback to get into the 80s? Let's get those hours in before next season starts.
Thinking about your golf game, where would an improvement make the most difference? Not just to your scorecard or your handicap, but to how much you enjoy the game.
Carl Buckley has been coming in for just over a month now and we found out what we needed to work on which was good. What started out as big pull slices have now turned into beautiful small draws with much more distance. Better!
However, after his last round, we received this message which was just the best: "Just had a round at Sherfield Oaks and shot a 96. 4 Shots better than my best and off the tee I was super happy. Some nice draws and power fades when I held the form.
Really happy and nearly made my first eagle!
Not bad for a new 40-year-old. Thank you :)"
Well done, Carl! We are sure that score will just keep on dropping and plenty more happy results on the course lie just ahead. If you'd like to work on your game and get more enjoyment from your time on the course, be sure to reach out and get yourself booked in. Really happy and nearly made my first eagle!

You’re invited to an exclusive on-course session with us, where you'll find out which areas of your game will help you improve your game the most in the shortest amount of time possible.
This won't surprise us, but will definitely help to surprise you
This is one of the craziest years we’ve ever experienced. So let’s hit the reset button and be even crazier. Let’s make this the year we play better golf than ever.
Away from the screen, real connections are made on the green
The past 18 months have seen ‘connection’ become more digital than ever before. While that’s enabled many adults to keep working, it’s deprived many children of school, sports and friends. Golf can make up for this with skills development, physical activity and friendship.
Knowledge is power. Power gets you further down the fairway
Discover Your Dispersion Beyond fear, there’s knowledge
Some tee boxes are especially scary and intimidating. But you can gain the upper hand with an understanding of your dispersion patterns. This knowledge enables you to adjust your aim and minimise risk, freeing you up to approach a daunting hole with more confidence.
Knowing your dispersion patterns also enables you to be aggressive when the situation requires it.
Using your dispersion patterns gives you a much better idea of where to aim to keep your scoring chances as high as possible. You can use dispersion to better manage a new course, and even to score on it as well.
Now this is how we should all play golf (minus the club chuck!!!). I haven't smiled this much watching a golf video for years.
Jonah has been putting a lot of time into his golf recently with some really good one to one lessons and a few days of Junior Summer camps here at Pine Ridge.
With the help of his very supportive Dad, who always makes the time to get him on the course he's really making some great progress.
Can't wait to see some more reactions like this.
If you would like your child to get in to golf or come to our summer camps this week please follow the link or contact
The best decision you can make, over and over again
Game management is about weighing up risk versus reward. Knowing your dispersion patterns enables you to adjust your aim, so you can minimise the risk of going out of bounds and reap the rewards of staying in play.
If there's one thing we can help you improve this month, this is it
Dispersion patterns are easy to determine and once you understand them, you’ll know where to aim to minimise your risk of landing in hazards or out of bounds.
Our junior programmes are all about improving your children's games, but also aim to help them make as many friends and have as much fun as possible. That's why we’re excited to announce we are running additional junior classes starting on a Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon from September 7th and 8th.
The classes from 16:30 - 17:30 are 5-8 year olds, while the 17:30 - 18-30 classes are 9-12 year-olds. Book their spots by clicking on the respective links below!
Chris England, can you get more inspirational than this?
Chris England is a true fighter and an inspiration to us all. Coming back from cancer and two strokes a few years back, Chris has been working as hard as possible to make his golf better than it was pre-stroke, which we are very close to achieving!
Welcome to Advanced PGA Professional Lewis Atkinson
We're really excited to announce Lewis Atkinson is joining the team at Pine Ridge to provide his expertise in delivering quality coaching programmes to all Pine Ridge Academy students.
Lewis has been a Professional for over 20 years, starting at Stoke Park and then onto Wentworth Golf Club where he completed his PGA training.
Lewis has a great playing record, including qualifying to play in the 2004 British Open at Royal Troon. More recently, in fact just last month, Lewis won the PGA South Region Surrey Open Championship for the 2nd time.
Lewis' coaching experience is fantastic, creating individualised programmes that are unique to each students' goals. Lewis offers a free assessment lesson, in order to get to know you and make sure he aligns his coaching programmes to your goals.
Lewis' approach and coaching will help every aspect of your game, and most importantly help you to take it to the golf course to shoot the lowest score possible.
We are initially offering just 10 free assessments with Lewis. If you'd like to be one of the first ten then please click the link, fill out the form and Lewis will get in touch to book your spot!
We hope you're as excited about the amazing golf that's going to be played this week at The Olympics! But why leave all the good golf up to the Pros when you can start playing more amazing shots yourself?
Why not pop in for a lesson or get your kids signed up to our Junior Summer Camps? There's plenty of great golf to go around!
Golf is undoubtedly taking off around the world! Due to the amazing physical, social and mental benefits, it's no wonder so many people are turning to the game.
That's why we'd encourage you to get your friends, loved ones and anyone who you think might enjoy these benefits to get involved! We have two awesome events lined up exactly for this reason:
Our 5- or 10-week Learn to Play programmes are coming up at the beginning of August and are perfect to meet others of similar ability in a relaxed, fun environment! https://bit.ly/39Oiv64
Our Golf experience day is also happening on the 4th of August from 17.00-20.00 and provides the perfect taster of all things golf for those who you think would like to dip their toes in! https://bit.ly/3kKmGFF
Had a great time on the golf course last night with the beginner group lesson.
Some very impressive shots for the first time out on the golf course but how about this shot. Driver to 2 feet then holed the putt. (helps when you aim straight on the course)
Great shot Sushil and looking forward to seeing many more.
If you'd like help having a few more magical moments like this please contact martin@prgolfacademy.com
Most golfers shooting above 90 are struggling with the ball going right (for right-handers). If that’s you, hitting the ball straighter, or even with a gentle draw, gets you on a better journey.
Shooting below 85 or even near to that number is very difficult if your first move on the downswing takes your hands “outside the line” (that’s a technical term we use to describe the relationship between your swing and the plane).
Last time out, if too many holes were spoiled right from the off, by a slice or big fade off the tee that results in you being in the rough or trees, then the good news is that it's often an easier fix than you think.
We've been having an awesome time introducing golf to so many new golfers this summer. From young to old, this game has something to offer everyone.
If you or anyone you know would like to get involved and have a smashing good time, we have just what you're looking for. Our Learn to Play programme starting on the 17th of July has a few more spots left. Be sure to get in quick and book your spots!
Improve the experience for everyone | Starting 17 July
There are so many exciting events such as The Open and Ryder Cup just around the corner. Won't the experience be so much better if we can share it with those who might not be playing golf yet?
Whether it’s the immediate benefits like fun, outdoor exercise and family time or long-term benefits like physical and mental development, golf has so much to offer your child.
Can you score 10 points? Or do you need some help to do that?
A short-game coaching guru once analyzed thousands of regular golfers and determined that the average length of the final shot to the green was 19 yards.
Golf doesn’t have to be a game played over four or five hours or even 18 or 9 holes. You can have a competition with three friends in 45 minutes before or after your day starts or ends. Par 18 is a great benchmark to track your greenside skill.
Just when you thought your dad had everything, you got him a whole new golf game! A set of new skills that will provide endless enjoyment and provide many a memory.
You probably know that the final number on your scorecard has more to do with your performance with a few clubs at the bottom of your bag: your wedges and putter.
Walk away from every green with a smile on your face
On putts over 20 feet, regular golfers don’t strike the putter face at a consistent spot. Some strikes will be towards the toe and some will be nearer the heel. Many golfers overestimate how often they middle it. Here’s a quick and easy way to see for yourself.
Stableford victory and handicap reduction for Norman Kelsey
It is always nice to get some feedback from students on their development and successes following their lessons. Below is an email I received from Norman Kelsey updating me on his progress.
"Hi Jason,
Just wanted to say thank you. Since my lesson with you at the end of March, and putting into practice the adjustments you made to my swing, my average strokes per round has come down to 97 over the 8 rounds I have played. 5 rounds were sub 100. Previously I had struggled to get below 100 and only managed it occasionally. So, good work all round. I will see you soon for some work on chipping around the greens.
Best wishes
Norman"
Congratulations to Norman on his Stableford win at the start of May and on reducing his handicap with some consistent golf. A demonstration that practice on the right things pays off! Knowing you can comfortably handle long putts takes the pressure off needing to land your ball close to the flag on approach. When you’re able to consistently two-putt from distance, your golf experience is transformed.
He came in struggling with a slice after coming out of the last lock down. Sent me this picture 2 days after his lesson. Good to see him back on track and feeling confident for the next course outing.
If you're struggling with your post covid golf and need some Emergency swing surgery please contact:
The face angle of your putter at contact has between 80 and 95% influence on the launch direction of your putt. That means a tiny error could cause you to slip by the hole, even with great tempo.
There's nothing quite like golf in the springtime, especially after the winter we've just had. So come spend some time with us this May. Soak up the sun, meet some awesome new people and most importantly, get that unmatched satisfaction from improving your golf.
A survey conducted at several golf clubs, revealed that less than 2% of golfers between a 20 and 5 handicap intended to have any coaching in the next 12 months. The attitudes to better golf were also interesting, especially across the age groups. We wonder what the view is at our facility?
Yes, the statistics on the major tours now tell us that those with the longest tee shots are making a great living, but you’re not trying to make a living from the game. Most of you are looking for a great social experience and a good or better golfing experience.
So great to be back teaching again, especially when you see some improvements like this.
Jack came back after the long break struggling with his old slice and pull shot. Soon managed to get him back on track with some cool drills. Check out that flight with his 7 iron. I think it's gonna be a good year ahead.
If you're struggling with getting back in to the swing of things I'm always here to help.
We have had a year that has reminded us of how important the outdoors, space, and our health is. If you play golf, then you should consider yourself to be a very lucky person. Spread that love to people you care about.
“You drive for show, but putt for dough” was a saying that used to have some relevance to tour professionals and the highly competitive. It’s a lot less relevant to them now (as proven by the big-hitters at the top of the money list) but was it ever relevant to the regular golfer?
“You drive for show, but putt for dough”. Do you though? Bryson DeChambeau (1st on the Fedex cup ranking) is only 38th on the list of strokes gained on the green, but is 1st for the equivalent stat off the tee. And did you know Viktor Hovland (4th on the Fedex list) is 90th on his putting stat but 5th in strokes gained off the tee?
With less than a week to go till golf is back, be sure to make your child's Easter break that much more fulfilling. Having fun outdoors, learning new skills that will stick with them for a lifetime, and making some new friends; now doesn't that sound exciting?
Getting a grip on the basics of the game from an early age sets you up for life. These basics will stay with you, even if you do take a break from the game.
The only thing more exciting than being able to play golf again
Thanks so much to all those of you who have already signed your kids up for the Junior Easter Camps. Spots are filling up fast, so to make sure your child has an unbelievable time learning this great game next month, be sure to book their spots ASAP!
We can't believe it's March already! Although we might not be able to just yet this shouldn't stop us from getting excited about getting back out on the course. With the year speeding on, our Junior Easter Camps are just around the corner now.
Children today have so many ways NOT to go outside. Whether it’s TVs, PCs, tablets or smartphones; a digital world of instant streaming and gaming options is there to keep them indoors.
We're still waiting on the All Party Parliamentary Golf Group to confirm regulations for the return to golf but we can be confident in 1-1 coaching being allowed and our Junior Camps going ahead in the Easter holidays!
Our lesson diaries are open, and we've had lots of enquiries already. Please get in touch ASAP to book your lessons for the first few weeks as spots are filling up fast!
Enjoy your first round of golf back by preparing with a lesson from your PGA Professional.
Family time on the fairways, what's better than that?
Children develop better when their family environment is supportive and positive. Golf gives families an opportunity like few other sports to spend several hours together. This gives you the time and space to provide your child with positive feedback.
Golf brings together a wide variety of people from all walks of life. For children playing golf, this diversity helps to broaden their worldview and gives them the opportunity to form new friendships.
Golf etiquette and values foster behaviours and skills that will help your child deal with life more effectively. The golf course can be seen as a safe and fun testing ground for real-world challenges.
Stay healthy, stay safe, and most importantly, stay active!
It’s possible to improve your golf game from home. Exercise is an important part of a healthy lifestyle, and certain exercises are particularly good for your swing.

Following the Government's announcement last night all coaching activities will cease until further notice.
If you have golf lessons booked your coach will contact you to reschedule these to a later date.
We will be in touch during Lockdown with regular news, tips, challenges and updates. We're excited about getting back to golf in the spring and look forward to welcoming everyone back to our club when it is safe to do so.
Please stay safe, and do reach out if you have any questions.
Playing from bunkers and heavy rough is tough enough as it is. But winter adds water and mush to the mix, and without a game plan it can be tough to escape.
Unfortunately in the game of golf, as in life, there aren't any quick fixes that have long-lasting positive effects. This is why our coaching packages have been so popular this year. To help you play better golf consistently and make positive changes to your life.
Muddy lies come with the territory during winter. But your golf experience doesn’t have to get stuck because of it. We’re here to help you play better golf this winter.
It's been a long month away from our beloved golf course, but what's made it even longer is not having been able to see all of you! Helping all of you achieve your goals is what gives us the energy to give you our best efforts. That's why last night's news has got us so excited that we can still end of this crazy year on a really high note!
Some gifts are more intangible than others. The confidence of believing in your ability. The satisfaction of a crisp iron shot. Watching a ball disappear into the bottom of the cup.
Blowing away another myth. It’s quicker than you think.
Thinking about your golf game, where would an improvement make the most difference? Not just to your scorecard or your handicap, but to how much you enjoy the game.
The four most effective ways we can take your game to the next level
This month, we’ve asked you to consider how your year in golf has been so far and what areas you can improve. There are many aspects to consider, and it can all seem a bit overwhelming, but we’re here to help you stay on track.

When Louise first came to me at the Pine Ridge she was lucky to get anywhere near 120 for 18 holes. A year on and now look at her. She shot 100 for the first time a few weeks ago and now a front 9 of 48!!
I can't wait to see her finally break that 100 soon and see where she can go from there.
Whether you’ve just started playing golf, or have lost count of how many years you’ve been playing, there’s always room for improvement. Think back on the past nine months of golf. What part of your game would give you the biggest thrill if you improved it?
his particular lady (who prefers not to be named) was a bit nervous about coming for her taster session. As a beginner, you might not know what to expect.
At first, she just wanted to see if golf could be a hobby that she could enjoy, but she quickly got into it!
Some tee boxes are scary. That’s down to course design, something you can’t control. But with an understanding of your dispersion patterns, you can adjust your aim to minimise risk. That frees you up to approach a daunting hole with more confidence.
Too many 3 putts? Not holing enough short putts? Is putting stopping you from shooting lower scores?
Don't miss out on the last remaining places for the Tour Putting Masterclass hosted by PGA professional putting coach Jason Murray on Tuesday 22nd September from 1pm to 4pm.

Be prepared for any course There is a way you can prepare for the challenges of any golf course, even if it’s your first time playing it. By using your dispersion patterns you’ll have a much clearer idea of where to aim. This makes navigating new situations a lot easier.
Shooting lower scores and playing better golf doesn't mean having to change your technique.
We are living in a crazy world these days. With so much to do, we have very little time to work on our golf swings. That's why we're offering half hour, one-on-one course management sessions to help you cut your scores by making better decisions.
Only golf test robots hit it dead straight every time
Stay in play - an easy way to improve your aim
Only golf test robots hit it dead straight every time. Yet many golfers begin every hole trying to do just that. This leads to dropped shots, higher scores and less fun. Dispersion patterns are easy to determine and once you understand them, you’ll know where to aim to minimise your risk of landing in hazards or out of bounds.

I do not believe that there is one way to swing a club, rather in an infinite number of swing styles. But, I do believe there is one efficient way for every player to swing and it is based on what the player can physically do. The most efficient swing is not the same for every golfer, because efficiency is unique to their body. To achieve an efficient swing, a golfer must first be screened. This screen involves an assessment of swing mechanics and biomechanics, physical fitness, movement quality, current health and a client history.

Speed Challenge Event
Studies show that for each 1MPH gained in club head speed results in the ball going 2.3 yards longer. A 5mph increase will result in 11+ yards increase in distance. This would make a huge difference on the golf course.

Some of the best players on the planet have replaced their 2&3 irons for hybrids. Hybrids are designed to launch the ball higher and spin more, all the things that the players find supremely beneficial.
Why should you switch ???
1- If you have noticed your club head speed lagging over the last few years
2- If you struggle hitting the ball solid with long irons
3- If you want to play better
Why don't you join me this coming Thursday at Pine Ridge GC and find out what making the "Switch" can do to your game! Limited spaces available .

Get your Cowboy Boots on & join us next week for an awesome....9 Holes of TEXAS SCRAMBLE here at Pine Ridge Golf Club
Most golfers are familiar with the Texas Scramble format but for those of you who aren't here's a quick heads up. Texas Scramble consists of a four-person team, Each player drives off and the ‘best’ tee shot is chosen and from then on it's game time. All in all it is a great game of golf, no time spent in the rough or splashing out of bunkers, it's really fun and the best part is that anyone can play no matter what your handicap, as all the teams will have mixed players with low to high handicaps.
Tee Times will start at 14:00 and the price is only £10.00 with Coffee and Bacon Roll included.
Don't worry about getting team mates, this will be done for you and sent to you including your tee time. Afterwards we will grab a drink in our new Club House to go over the results and hang up our Cowboy or Cowgirl hats.
Spaces are limited to the first 36 golfers and you can book with me, Pedro Lemos, via my email: pineridge-gdp@crown-golf.co.uk
We are sure to have a lot of fun and I hope you can find time to get involved. Yee-haw.
